Definition: Flatter Squarer Tube: Design of monitor screen of a cathode ray tube in which the visible face is not part of a sphere but is aspherical i.e. flatter and squarer. * Such screens are easier to view, can give a larger viewable area for a given size of tube and catch fewer reflections. * As the distance between the electron gun and screen varies from the centre of the screen to the edge, the electronic control of the electron beam is very complicated.
