Definition: Dual In-line Memory Module: type of memory module in which the connector pins are arranged along two rows. * Use 64-bit data bus. * ECC DIMMs have extra data bits used by the system memory controller to detect and correct errors. *  72-pin-DIMMs are used for SO-DIMM; 144-pin-DIMM for SO-DIMM; 200-pin-DIMMs for SO-DIMM; 168-pin-DIMMs, for FPM, EDO and SDRAM; 184-pin-DIMMs for DDR SDRAM; 240-pin-DIMMs for DDR2 SDRAM.
