Definition:

Twenty-four times faster than standard CD-ROM speed of 150 bits per second: data can be read (or written) at a rate of up to 3600 bits per second. * Multiples of speed are also used to measure read and write speeds for memory cards e.g. 133x, DVD reader/writers e.g. 8x, and so on.
